Sanctions policy
We work only for goods sold into the EU, Northern Ireland and Norway. We don't handle trade to or from Russia or Belarus, and we screen every client before we start.
Effective from 27 October 2026 · Approved by the management board · Version 1.0
1. Scope
This policy applies to every Noda service: customs declarations, the EU responsible person role, VAT and packaging representation, stock and returns. It binds Noda, its staff and the partners we work with on your file.
2. What we don't do
- We don't handle goods that originate in, are exported from or are bound for Russia or Belarus.
- Goods of other origin that transit Russia or Belarus on their way to the EU, for example by rail: only where EU sanctions permit, after we check the goods, their origin, the route and every party.
- We don't accept orders whose final destination is Russia or Belarus.
- We don't work for clients, owners or business partners listed under EU sanctions.
- We don't handle goods that EU sanctions prohibit for the destination or the end user.
- We don't help anyone get around sanctions, in any form.
Some of these rules go further than the law requires. That is our choice.
3. How we check
- Clients. We check the identity of every client company and its beneficial owners before we start.
- Sanctions lists. We screen the client, its owners, consignees and business partners against the EU consolidated sanctions list when we start, when anything changes, and every 6 months.
- Goods. Before each customs declaration, we check the product code and description against EU restrictions.
- Routes. We check the transport route and the consignee of every shipment we declare or store.
4. In our contracts
Our contracts oblige clients to follow EU sanctions. Where EU law requires it, they include a clause that prohibits re-export to Russia (Council Regulation (EU) 833/2014, Article 12g).
5. If we find a problem
- We stop the work at once, and we don't release or ship the goods.
- We report to the competent Estonian authorities where the law requires it.
- We end the contract if the client breaks this policy.
6. Why this matters in Estonia
Estonia enforces sanctions strictly. In 2025 the Estonian Tax and Customs Board opened 1,036 misdemeanour cases, 772 of them about sanctions, and sent 110 criminal cases to prosecutors. A clean supply chain protects your goods as much as it protects us.
7. Questions and concerns
Write to [email protected] with "Compliance" in the subject. You can also report a concern about a shipment or a client confidentially. We reply within 5 business days.
